The TiAlN wear protection coating increases the surface hardness to approx. 3,500 HV. Titanium aluminum nitride is a chemical compound of the three elements titanium, aluminum and nitrogen. TiAlN is a metallic hard material with a typical black-violet color. Advantages: The TiAlN coating enables dry machining of cutting tools, cooling is not necessary. Higher hardness, very low coefficient of friction, optimum tool life.
