Maximum efficiency, minimum effort - the problem solver for professionals
With the new ULTIMATECUT Multidrill with FLOWSTEP® tip, RUKO is setting a new standard for powerful, versatile drilling tools. Developed for demanding applications and with a cutting depth of 10.0 millimeters, this precision tool combines several functions in a single product—making everyday work noticeably easier for craftsmen and craftswomen.
What is the Multidrill with FLOWSTEP® tip?
The ULTIMATECUT Multidrill with FLOWSTEP® tip is not just a step drill—it is a true all-rounder. With just one tool, you can drill up to eight different hole diameters. This not only reduces the space required in your toolbox, but also saves time when changing tools and minimizes downtime on the construction site or in the workshop.
At the heart of this new development is the FLOWSTEP® tip, which enables controlled, precise drilling on almost all surfaces – even on smooth surfaces or round materials.
The special cutting geometry significantly reduces both the axial (downward) and radial (sideways) force required. Particularly practical: the sophisticated cutting geometry enables one-sided deburring of the hole directly during drilling – eliminating the need for an additional work step. This ensures that every hole is drilled precisely, cleanly, and efficiently.
Technical properties and materials
The further developed ULTIMATECUT Multidrill with FLOWSTEP® tip is made of high-quality HSS (high-speed steel) with RUKO's own RUnaTEC coating. This choice ensures high wear resistance, temperature resistance, and a long service life for the tool. HSS is ideal for structural steel and general metalworking, for example.
With a cutting depth of 10.0 mm per step, the Multidrill with FLOWSTEP® tip allows deeper working than conventional step drills – without compromising on stability or precision. The drill is suitable for a wide range of materials, including structural steel, aluminum, and plastics.
Advantages of the Multidrill with FLOWSTEP® tip
1. Maximum flexibility: Drill up to 8 hole diameters in material thicknesses up to 10 mm with just one drill – ideal for changing requirements.
2. Less effort required thanks to innovative FLOWSTEP® technology: Fatigue-free working even during long periods of use – protects both people and machines.
3. Excellent drilling performance thanks to FLOWSTEP® tip: Secure drilling without slipping – regardless of the material.
4. For hard-to-reach areas: Can also be used in tight spaces – particularly practical in combination with hand-held drills.
5. Time savings thanks to integrated deburring: No reworking necessary – saving valuable minutes with every drill hole.
6. Cost-effectiveness: Reduced tool requirements, less wear, higher productivity – a win in every respect
Perfect for any challenge – the Multidrill in action
Learn step by step how to use the combination machine tap correctly and what you need to bear in mind to achieve optimum results.
1. Selecting the Multidrill
Before you start work, it is crucial to select the right Multidrill for the material you want to machine. Take the following factors into account:
Installation space: Note the length of the Multidrill and check whether you can drill to the desired diameter (e.g., for pipes).
Application: Suitable for structural steel, aluminum, and plastics.
Material thickness: Note the maximum cutting depth of 10.0 mm.
Hole diameter: There are three different sizes to choose from.
Size 1 with 1 mm increments from Ø 6.0 mm to 12.0 mm.
Size 2 with 2 mm increments from Ø 6.0 mm to 20.0 mm.
Size 3 with 3 mm increments from Ø 6.0 mm to 27.0 mm.
2. Preparing the drill
Clamping the tool: Make sure that the Multidrill is securely fixed in the drill chuck. The triangular shank ensures optimum power transmission without slipping in the drill chuck. The Multidrill is also ideal for use with a hand drill with direct chuck.
Speed and feed: Powerful drilling with the FLOWSTEP® tip at up to 2000 rpm. From the second stage and when drilling out, shift down (max. 500 rpm with increasing diameter, e.g., slow down for size 3 – 300 rpm) and continue drilling with care.
Lubrication: Use cutting oil or spray to reduce friction and increase the service life of the tool.
3. The work process: drilling, reaming, deburring
The Multidrill combines several work steps in one tool:
Center punching: Not necessary thanks to the FLOWSTEP® tip. It ensures that the drill bit is centered, even on curved surfaces.
Drilling: The FLOWSTEP® tip makes it easier to penetrate the material, and FLOWSTEP® technology enables smooth transitions to the next stage.
Deburring: The resulting burr is removed with the next stage.
4. Checking
When you are finished, check the position of the hole and its function.
Conclusion
The ULTIMATECUT Multidrill with FLOWSTEP® tip is your problem solver in action. With the right selection, preparation, and application, you are prepared for any situation.
To achieve the best results, always ensure that you are working with the appropriate speed, sufficient lubrication or cooling, and secure tool clamping.
